I work for a public charter school that specializes in serving students in under-served communities. We believe that college is a possibility for all students, even those who require the assistance of Special Education Services. Because of this philosophy ALL students are enrolled in A-G college prep courses (CSU and UC approved). They also enroll and pass at least 15 units of classes at the local community college by the time they graduate! My students overcome a variety of disabilities (learning, physical health and mental health disabilities) to participate in this challenging curriculum. However, they are much more than a disability! My students are compassionate, persistent, humorous and ambitious. They strive everyday to accomplish what comes easily to their peers. They inspire me every day.
