One phrase that every teacher has been asked ever year is, "I'm done. What do I do now?" Every year I have tried to create options for my students who finish their assignments and work early. Ultimately what I have done in the past is provide assignment extensions, however, my students would approach them with a lack of enthusiasm and to them it ultimately felt like more work. I have discovered that what my students need are options that are challenging, fun, and engaging. This year I want to provide my students with fast finisher options that are educational, but that also allow my students to play a little bit. These items are meant to do just that. They don't necessarily have to be connected with what we are presently learning in class. I want to provide them with a range of options for a broad range of interests. These items include geography, language, math, trivia, puzzle, and tactile options. Little things like this can be the difference between school feeling like drudgery or a learning adventure.
