Our school has recently started using the Science of Reading. We are focused on decoding and language comprehension skills in order to get our end product, "reading comprehension." Having students work with me in small groups has become a big part of our school day. We rotate the students based on needed skills for two periods during the day. During this time it is important to be close to the small group so they can see, hear, and complete activities with me in order to work on decoding and language comprehension skills. Having the dry erase table will let me see their work quickly and allow for less paper and materials on the table, which can be a distraction.
