University of Oregon scholars show grit each and every day in all that they do. My scholars joined our school, a public charter school in the South Bronx, in 2010 when the school was founded, and have served as leaders each and every day since. 5th graders in my class and at our school truly pave the way for what a scholar should look like, act like, and sound like in all that they do. Whether it is forming the Better Foods Committee to communicate their passion for triangular shaped pizza or serving on the Student Council and conducting a Bake Sale, where a portion of the profits would be donated to their classmate and her family with an urgent medical condition, U of O scholars truly shine in all that they do.

About my class
