According to the U. S. Department of Commerce, STEM occupations are growing at 17%, while other occupations are growing at 9.8%. STEM degree holders have a higher income even in non-STEM careers. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics workers play a key role in the sustained growth and stability of the U.S. economy. STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. With access to a variety of STEM project kits they can do during center and free time my students will have increased exposure to STEM development and collaboration in their classroom. If STEM education is not improved, the United States will continue to fall in world ranking with math and science scores and will not be able to maintain its global position. We currently don't have many STEM/STEAM related manipulatives to help assist in their learning and these kits would help better prepare our students in this ever-changing world. Students will conduct Project Lead the Way activities, hold competitions between classroom to foster positive behavior, produce productivity and drive improved performance on their Science Statewide examinations.
