My school is a high poverty school where all students receive free lunch and we are listed as a Title 1 school. The students I teach have intellectual and learning disabilities and emotional and behavior disorders. These students find it hard to retain information yet, they have the same expectation to learn and achieve like General Education students. If these students were given extra strategies through technology (i.e. repetition of listening to stories, video demonstrations) to retain information, I know they will be successful. Students with disabilities perform lower on standardized tests in my school and I feel if the students are provided with these Kindle tablets, I will be able to assist them more. Many of the students are eager to learn and having these Kindles will give them the technology needed to assist them. Your donation will allow my students to not stress over whether they will be able to become better online test takers and readers because they don't have technology skills.
