I have been teaching in school district U-46, Elgin, IL for 25 years. I have been at Hillcrest Elementary School for the past 5 years. Hillcrest School has 85% low income and 53% English Language Learners students. The students love art class and look forward to their once a week for 40 minutes class. During Art class the students learn about the National standards for Visual Arts and how they can use their art skills integrated into the general education classes. The school is very supportive of all the Arts.
