My students are making tremendous progress this year with visual aids. We create special pictures to accompany the general education curriculum to enhance comprehension in all subjects. Our students require visual aids to transition throughout their day and to communicate their wants and needs. Something as simple as using a picture of candy not only helps that child get his needs met but also prevents huge, aggressive tantrums. Visual supports are essential to the function of an autistic child. We need a photo printer and ink to create visuals. Our children need your help in being able to communicate and understand what is being asked of them. Currently, we all share the same printer in the front office. By the time I get a break to go retrieve my prints, they are no longer there. Having a class printer with make the resources my students need readily available.
