Many of my students speak English as their second language. Many are Burmese refugees. Many have very difficult home lives. However, through the challenges that my students have, they have learned to be respectful leaders here at my school. The students really love the school, which makes it an incredible place to teach. Because my middle school students will be going to high school soon, I want to send them away with a very memorable experience in their first year of music classes. I want them to choose to have other musical experiences in high school and hopefully participate in music throughout their lives.
