The speakers will be used in a variety of ways in the classroom. The speakers will benefit both whole class and group learning activities in the classroom, and high-quality presentations in any meeting setting. Speakers are an important aspect of classroom technology because students who hear clearly are more likely to participate in class discussion, understand instruction, and stay on task. Our current projectors are not equipped with speakers of any sort. Therefore we only have minimal audio from the computer’s speakers during presentations and lessons. With the speakers, we will be able to stream podcasts from iTunes U as well as enhance audio from from an iPad or other connected device from a Skype chat, Google + Hangout, Audiobooks, Facetime or a virtual field trip. We will also be able to stream play classical music during seatwork to help students focus.
