I have the opportunity to teach 2nd - 5th grade students who have developing social, academic, and behavioral skills. My students LOVE learning and participating in many aspects of school and socializing with their general education peers - especially in the area of technology and computers. My students light up and blossom in the computer lab and do their best to "keep up" with their general education peers; however, their disabilities make this difficult. We are a brand new AVID school and encourage ALL of our students, even students with disabilities, to go to college. I believe that receiving this grant will jump start technological skills that my students need to start them on their journey.
