My kids go through the day asking questions that constantly keep me on my toes! For example, the question I got today as we walked down the hall was, "How tall is the ceiling?" One student said she thought it was 20 inches and another said "No, it's 20 feet." This led to a discussion about how long a foot is, which led to a discussion on customary units of measurement versus metric units of measurement. See? Every day is like this! Kids have a natural curiosity and 6th graders especially want to know the hows and whys of our world. There have been many times when I have had to tell a student that we both needed to research a question and meet about it the next day. At that meeting, we teach each other what we have learned and clear up any misconceptions! Learning ROCKS.
