Although they do not have a lot my students still come to school with a smile and are eager to learn. The biggest problem in my classroom is the lack of exposure and parental involvement. Very rarely do my students leave the confines of their small town. The town in which my school is located is a small town swallowed between two large affluent towns. The small town is known for flooding. I have been teaching in the town for just over 7 years and in that time period it has been flooded 2 times. The students lost everything and many of them had to be rescued in small boats. They spent weeks and some even months in shelters.
