My school serves students kindergarten-fifth grade. We are a growing school with almost 900 students. It is located in a rural farming community. I serve a high population of English Language Learners as well as below poverty level students. Many come from homes where the parents to do not view reading as important. Also, most come to me performing below grade level in reading. It is my job to motivate them to read more and to learn to read for information and understand what they are reading.
