I get to know most of the students in the lower grades. Being an ESL teacher gives me the opportunity to work with many students throughout all grades. I mainly work with lower grades K-3, and my assistant works with the upper grades 4-6. My assistant does the same thing I do, but with the upper grades. I work with students in a small group setting. In the mornings I do Literacy Stations where I go into the classroom and work with a small group of children. I go into three different grades K-2. In the afternoon I do pull out groups where I pull small groups of students to supplement their learning. I get to work with all the children eventually, since we do rotations for the Literacy Stations. I truly enjoy getting to work with every child. I feel as a teacher I learn a lot more about my teaching when I have a variety of different types of students. I also enjoy getting to know most of the students and I can call them by name when I see them in the hallways.
