Through the supply of these materials, students will learn new processes in the arts. They will explore quilting design and sewing techniques. The students will learn how to take a concept and turn it into functional art. While learning about textile and functional art, students will learn a skill that will be of benefit for a lifetime. Throughout the school year, students will complete an additive process to an ongoing project with the sewing machines. The skills learned will be transferable to their ability to sew when the need arises or as a form of income. Through the use of light tables, students' drawing abilities and confidence will be boosted. They will have the opportunity to transfer their ideas into tangible artwork while adding realism to their work.
