Dear Donors, My classroom is in the K-5 building of a small charter school which has a middle school and high school. Recognizing that our students were in desperate need of computer literacy skills and digital citizenship training, our school invested in a classroom of chrome books and an online program for training in computer skills and digital citizenship. Most of our students do not have computers or internet at home, so they are thrilled to have Technology class every three days. There are 450 students that share 26 Chromebooks on a three day rotation with Art and Music. We are an urban public school with a high percentage of poverty, diversity, and special needs, but our students achieve scores that surpass those of nearly every school in a several mile radius around us. I like to think that a deciding factor is that we all live by the school mantra of respect, responsibility, safety, involvement and focus.
