My students don't always have an adult available to read to them due to work. Sometimes a language barrier prevents a parent from providing an opportunity for my students to hear English books read to them. By providing my students with cd players and books on cd, my students have the means to gain information, practice cloze reading, and complete simple research papers for topic. The six CD players will rotate through the classroom so all needs can be met. My students are excited about reading and this will support their growth, their love of reading, and their language development.
