My 6th grade students attend a Title 1 public elementary school in Arizona. I have 30 students, 7 of which qualify for special education services due to a variety of learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, and autism. I have two instructional aides who come in to work with all 7 students. One aide assists for reading and language, and the other assists for math. My students face the challenge of not receiving more "one on one" instructional guidance due to an increase in class size. I feel each one of my students is gifted in their own unique way. They offer great contributions to my classroom through insightful discussion. I try to provide hands-on opportunities in my lessons to engage students, but I want them getting active in their own education outside of the classroom. They all have unlimited potential and I feel that technology can assist my students in reaching their true potential as successful students and eventually adults.
