I have an exciting group of boys and girls ranging from ages 7-9. Our school is located in an area where 99% of our students are on free lunch. Also 20% of the school's population is deemed homeless. Coming to school for most of these students is an outlet to get away from everyday stress. Often times my students don't want to leave and ask if they can come home with me. I love my job and seeing them everyday wanting to learn makes me strive harder to make their experiences at school lifetime memories. Our school is about 50 years old and is not equipped for these 21st century learners. In our class we have no technology except for one teacher computer and one student computer. In fact we still have a green chalkboard. But the thing my students love to do is read. We have a mixed class with reading levels ranging from high to low. However any opportunity they get to read, they love it.
