The young children in my classroom are facing many years of classroom work involving sitting, writing, and reading for long periods of time. Developing a strong core strength through large motor activities is important to enable them to perform these functions. Developing those gross motor skills helps to improve penmanship, posture, energy levels, sensory processing, and manipulating small objects. Your donation will help children, who are increasingly sitting in front of a screen of some sort, get up and moving! These materials will have them walking on balance beams, leaping among stepping stones, walking on balance cans, and rocking around the floor.

About my class
