Next year, our district is using a math program that requires extensive use of manipulative and independent digital learning done on Chromebooks. My classroom, out of lack of better options, still uses slanted top desks. These desks do not provide a supportive flat surface for using technology or manipulatives (they constantly roll on the floor and slide into little laps!) As you can imagine, it can be incredibly frustrating for students and teacher alike. These individual desks also provide little opportunity for collaborative learning such as partner talks and group work. Tables will solve all of these problems! With tables, my students will have a space to work together and utilize technology.
