My students are energetic and love to learn. They come from a low income based household and don't have the ability to go to the library and check out books like other students in our district are able to. They are busy taking care of siblings at home after school or themselves since the parents are working two jobs to support their family. A majority of the students at my school receive a free breakfast, snack, and lunch daily. Most of the students lack the ability to have materials such as books provided to them at home. I would love to give them the opportunity for them to check out books and read at home. My students should be able to be kids and dive into a great book and fall in love with reading. I want to provide that opportunity in my classroom with a great book.
