The students at my school are some of the most motivated young people I have ever had the opportunity to work with. They truly place value on their education and put in the hard work to see results. In addition, they are extremely eager to have an impact on their local community and the world at large. Our class discussions on modern slavery revealed the depth of their empathy and desire to solve the difficult problems that persist in plaguing our world today. Finally, my students are committed to studying a topic deeply and with rigor. I know that they will reap the substantial rewards that come from wrestling with a challenging text like Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl.
