Even though we live in a very rural county, the students at the school where I teach are very diverse, financially and educationally. It is entertaining to watch the mingling of camouflage and Dior during class changes. There are approximately 1100 teenagers in the school who are learning, discovering, and growing throughout the school year. The students are on a block schedule; each class is 90 minutes. Each of the core classes have between 30 and 40 students. It is a comforting statistic that most of our students have gone to school together since kindergarten and remain friends.
