My students are from a low socio-economic area. The school culture is 80% Hispanic, with more than half on free or reduced lunch. The majority of them are curious about life. They are eighth graders just coming into the discovery of who they are. California is a state with a lot of problems, and I don't believe that students should suffer because of the state's problems.
