My student population is 50% African American and 50% Caucasian and Asian. There is also a special education cluster in this classroom with students with autism and speech/language disabilities. It is a very busy, noisy classroom but also a great deal of learning goes on. Our school is in an economically depressed part of our city. Many of our students are at a poverty level and some are homeless living with family members or at a hotel.
