The 130 students that I work with come from a wide variety of backgrounds. I have students that were born in other countries before coming to the United States, as well as students that have lived in our community their whole lives. My building has 41% of the students qualifying for free and/or reduced lunch. 24% of the students are identified as minority students. The students have a wide range of learning needs, too. I teach students that range in reading skills from 1st-post high school. They are all eager to learn and grow this year as we study our country's early history and learn about civics.
