The mentor texts I have requested will take us places we could never get to on our own. Whether we are at the library with Tomas, are having Chicken Sunday dinner at Grandma's, or are visiting The Last Stop on Market Street, we will be well traveled by the end of fourth grade. Reading mentor texts every day helps us grow together as a class, to grow to be better writers, and it helps us blossom into students who love to read. These mentor texts will used as examples of great writers, to teach reading strategies, to learn social studies concepts and to help us learn the importance and impact of being kind.

About my class
