By providing my Kindergarteners with quality, non-fiction reading material they will be engaged and interested in learning about the world around them. Scholastic "Let's Find Out" and "Science Spin" magazines do an excellent job of teaching Science and Social Studies through the use of current events and topics that are interesting to students at this age. They will learn about things such as their 5 senses, the life cycle of insects, weather, national elections, how to get along with others, and rules for school. It is nice for students to be exposed to a variety of types of reading material, including magazines, and Scholastic also includes a technology component through the use of the Smartboard.
