My class includes 32 4th graders who come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of these students have been told "you can't" and "you won't." My classroom is a safe place for academic risks where they are told, "you can" and "you will." As we dive into common core curriculum we have begun adapting hands on activities to meet the diverse needs of my students while promoting a positive self image and problem solving skills.
