Our school is located in a rural area. The students are exposed to insects every day. It is a big part of their life. By connecting science to their everyday lives, students should more easily be able to learn the science content introduced in the unit. We also live in a very poor community where students have very little exposure to hands on material, such as paint, construction paper, and scissors to build their fine motor skills.
