The materials listed will allow my students to have some control over the lighting, sound, and touch in their environment. Having some control is a huge benefit to all children, but to children who are struggling with sensory sensativities and healing from trauma, it is especially important. The sound canceling headphones are especially necessary as schools are very noisey places (especially the gym and cafeteria) and without the ability to buffer that noise, some students are not able to join their peers in those environments. The chewies and fidgets allow students to regulate their bodies and that will allow learning.
