We will invite 30 fifth and sixth graders and a parent to three separate events where a professional chef will teach and demonstrate how to quickly prepare nutritious, affordable and delicious entrees. The families will take home a crockpot, three cookbooks and the ingredients for the entree so they can prepare it together. Studies suggest that if we can actively engage students at this age in cooking, that they are more likely to sustain the interest as they get older. The goal of this project is to get families excited about being together in the kitchen.

About my class
