My thirty-one students are motivated, funny, inquisitive fifth graders. They are part of an integrated co-teaching classroom (ICT) which means that some are special education students, others English as a second language students, and others general educations students. They have different educational needs and abilities that could be better serviced through efficient integration of technology in our daily curriculum. Our school does not have enough resources and my students have access to computers only once a week. We are a Title I school and many of my students do not have access to computers at home. The weekly exposure to computers barely allows them to acquire basic typing skills and to conduct simple searches on the Internet. They will not be prepared for a technologically driven world nor will they meet the Common Core Standards of college and career readiness.
