Whenever students come into the library, they should see themselves reflected in the literature there. When students see themselves, they know that there are other families like theirs, other children with the same problems, worries and concerns. They feel less alone. They feel supported and understood! Giving students the ability to find themselves in their school library collection, giving them the chance to share their own experience with their friends, is completely empowering! It is my goal that each and every child know that their school library really is theirs; that they feel at home, comfortable and happy there. Adding more diverse books to the library collection will benefit all students in the school.

About my class
