My classroom is a first grade classroom consisting of mostly boys. They need to move! We incorporate brain breaks and active learning into our day as much as possible. The traditional classroom arrangement would not work for these students. They like to sit on balance balls, spinning chairs, rocking chairs and stools while they work. This type of active learning environment allows students the flexibility to choose where they do their work, while keeping them engaged in the process. The environment combined with the use of technology provides these students with an engaging and optimal opportunity for learning. We have limited resources to improve the learning environment, so I have turned to Donors Choose.
