My students persevere. I have four classes of 25 students, each with a unique story that paints a picture of a city. This city has gone through challenges, but it is working to pull itself up by it's own bootstraps. My students rise. Despite their personal challenges, one thing is constant. Each student has found a way to look for the bright things, even if they do not come easy. Because many of my students are unable to afford their own school supplies, I buy supplies for the class. This can take the place of pencils, crayons, markers, notebooks, and folders.
