The students at our high school are a diverse group, consisting of a majority of African Americans, and include Hispanics, Asians, Caucasians, and even some Native Americans. Seventy-three percent of the students are considered to be economically disadvantaged, and yet, the AP participation rate is twenty-three percent. With the college readiness rate for our district at 8.2, our school goes beyond with a rate of 8.4.
