My students are in the middle of a low-income area with high crime, violence and poverty. They crave structure because they don't receive it at home. They crave positive recognition. They crave love. They are kids suffering because of the street they live on and I don't want their zip code to define them. Our school is an amazing school that provides what they can, with the resources they have available. I have an extremely supportive administrative team and staff, yet resources are extremely limited.
