As an elementary resource teacher, I serve an ethnically diverse student population attending a public school in California. My classroom serves all students in the school for intervention and enrichment opportunities. My students are inquisitive and enthusiastic learners always asking "Why?" In my 23 years of being an elementary educator, I have come to fully understand the different needs and learning styles of children. In order for my students to be successful, I must always be looking to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each individual student in my classroom. I am always on the lookout for students who need flexible seating, students who need creative opportunities, or students who need a quiet corner away from distracting stimuli. I do not believe in a one-size fits all learning environment and these supplies will help me meet my goal of providing quality differentiated instruction for all.
