Students in our school come from diverse backgrounds. One-third of them qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch program. Many come from homes where other languages are spoken. Our school is a STEM school where the focus is on teaching through the lens of science, technology, engineering, and math. My students struggle in math and need specific interventions to help them succeed. The class I teach is in addition to their grade-level math class.
