This is a wonderful group of kids. Sadly, many of them come from high poverty homes with extremely rough family situations. I work with multiple students who feel that they are not good enough, not special enough, and unloved. They are crying for attention but do not understand how to acquire it in healthy ways. They expect to be betrayed. They understand betrayal. Thankfully, they attend a school that is very aware of this. Teachers and staff work closely with students with an understanding that the students emotional needs are equally important to their academic ones. Working as a team, students, teachers, administrators, and staff, many wonderful things are possible. Giving up is not a choice and we will stand with these kids through anything. .

About my class
