Our school was originally built to house 300 students. Our enrollment is currently close to 900! Due to this a new section of second grade was created at the last moment. For the past nine weeks, my second grade class has been "temporarily sharing" the library until we could obtain a place to call "home". We have finally obtained a used portable building that is being constructed in the parking lot and will be ready for us to move into in a couple of weeks. My students are so excited they can barely contain themselves! We take frequent "field trips" to the parking lot to check on the progress! Despite the numerous interruptions and distractions during our instructional time, the students in this second grade class are AWESOME! They are inquisitive, focused, determined to succeed, and are quite inspiring! Despite their circumstances, they are eager to complete their lesson each and every day! I love coming to work just to hear them ask, "What are we going to learn today?
