My students come from diverse backgrounds. We have a large population of English Language Learners as well as low-income families. The access to technology is very limited both at school and especially at home. My students value education, but unfortunately do not always have the resources to reach their full potential. They are very creative and we work to foster a very effective learning environment. They all have very strong personalities and are not afraid to speak their mind. When given a task they rise to the challenge and really impress me. I know that given access to certain opportunities, my students will really start to think about their future and their ability to make it what they want in general. I think my students will think about their place in the field of science specifically.
