My class has a variety of students. Half my students are ESE and the other half are ESOL learners. My 5th grade class has not even one student performing at grade level. The majority of the students are first generation in the USA, meaning parents have trouble assisting them in home learning due to the language barrier. The majority of my students have been retained in a school year because of learning development. Even though, my class struggles with learning material they are full of energy and inquiry to prepare themselves for middle school. The school unfortunately has no budget for technology and other learning resources.
