My students enter a Title 1 school that creates a positive, warm, and learning environment where one can feel safe. They are readers and writers who are becoming more and more engaged in literature each day. Although the environment around them may not support learning, they can come into the safe haven of their learning environment and take risks. As I greet them daily, I see how the impact of becoming a scholarly reader and writer is being embedded into their minds and daily habits and want to allow them to have the resources needed to continue being the scholars that they are.

About my class
