My students are seventh and eighth graders in a rural mountain community in California. Resources are limited and jobs for adults are mostly seasonal minimum wage positions related to the ski resorts and lake. Very few true careers are available. I am attempting to broaden their options by introducing computer coding and writing/publishing e-books to the curriculum.
