I am the Reading Specialist for a Title 1 primary school in Virginia. We serve over 960 students from kindergarten to 2nd grade. Our students come from diverse backgrounds: 60% of our students are considered high poverty, we have a large percentage of ESL students, and have many students from military families where one or both parents are deployed. My students have limited access to educational resources outside of the school day.
