My 35 fifth grade students attend a public school that does not qualify for any special funding. The population in my class is varied and hungry to learn. We are limited by outdated technology and lacking funds to replace all of the old hardware. In my classroom, students are assigned to study groups to help them in science, history, and math. If each group had a Chromebook, all students could use the technology to research and enhance their curriculum by immediately seeking answers to questions that arise, as they work together on mastering the content for each subject area. The greater depth of understanding and the immediate results of the use of these devices will allow a more varied access to information and will take group discussions to a higher level. Students can also use the technology to create documents to share with other groups
